The Outreach & Education Team often recruits new members through word of mouth, and we help integrate them into their areas of interest within our organization. Our goal is to build a large group of committed and ultimately informed and discerning people to carry out the MCAT mission — stewarding significant greenhouse gas reduction policy into law in Oregon. To do so we work hand-in-hand with the Legislative Lobby Team and Communications, and we also table at climate events to attract new members. We are proud to offer free presentations on germane climate topics to any group that is interested (please visit the Presentations page). Our team also offers educational support to legislators, policy makers and their staff, and recently we donated copies of Dr. John Perona’s book From Knowledge to Power to every Oregonian legislator at the Capitol.
